we'd like to put our marketing arm behind us but your having to fight tear riz m to this. since i grew up in africa and worked pakistan for many years you never settle a deal without driving a hard bargain so i said if the hard cover doesn't do well, i'd like the subtitle changed later on for the paper back. julia and our other board relently pounded away month after month. i was in pakistan of december of 2006 and there was a new editor on the book and they said they decided to change the title to one man's mission to promote peace. the hard cover didn't do that well. sold 20,000 copies. while the paper back came out on january 30th of this year and since out it's been on the new york times best seller selling over 700,000 copies now. and it's one man's mission to promote peace. and they're still baffleed manhattan because they're scratching their heads the first month because there's only - well no big city book editor did it so to be a best seller you need new york times or the chronicle or boston globes to give you good book reviews. no national t.v. or, m pr so paul s

all of us make mistakes and all of us sometimes fail. sometimes with relationships or investments or fail with jobs. um... i flunked my first driving test when i was 16 and totald the car while parallel parking and some student wills not get into college. really when you fail it's not the end of the road. it's more of an opportunity and away to find a different path. when i come to those moments in life, i think of the perz yen proverb that says when it's dark you can see the star. for those of you that have been there, i failed get a really good sunset picture on,k 2. this is actually a volcano in mexico but i love this climbing photo to end the climing sequence. so, here's our dirt bag climbers. done with the climb and it's time for me to head back to berkley. i was very weak and fortunately, we were still alive. that year five of 12 climbers that ascending died during the descend. i had to walk five days back to the nearest village to catch a jeep back to civilization. as i got to the village a string of kids started grabbing on to me

thank you for joining us. while this hearing is about too big to fail i would like to go back to the broader issue of the crisis if i might. would you describe for us the role that the federal reserve place in monitoring or managing credit standards in our country? >> as i mentioned earlier, the federal reserve has had a role in consumer protection, so we have created rules for example on requiring documentation, escrow accounts and other standards of underwriting that apply to mortgages. the other main area i can think of is like other bank regulators we want to make sure banks -- is their decision what risks to take and what loans to make, that they are adequately capitalized to deal with any losses that might occur. so we are pressing on the one hand for stronger sensitive capital standards to tie the amount of capital banks have to hold to the risk of the loans that they make and therefore if they make a riskier loans they need to hold more capital and judge for themselves if it makes sense to do that and

winick is joining us from atlantic beach this morning. good morning, t.j. >> reporter: rob and mike, good morning to you both. even with a category 2 hurricane you're still talking about winds up to 110 miles per hour and we're certainly getting some of the outer bands of that right now. the real concern right here in north carolina at this point is storm surge. what, with the waves behind me and the flooding that can cause. despite mandatory evacuations in three coastal counties down here, officials can't force people out of their homes. so many have chosen to ride this one out. a state of emergency has been declared at this point in four states -- north carolina, virginia, maryland, and massachusetts. and certainly that should help getting those necessary resources to where they need to go as soon as the storm blows out to sea. now right now the storm is on a path to cape cod, massachusetts, with 500,000 simple residents. even though a hurricane hitting the northeast is a once in a generation event, emergency officials up there promise

they're spinning around us. this storm is about 120, 125 miles straight off the coast of virginia beach here. and the waves are breaking about 10 or 15 feet. there, there's an additional five or six feet of spray on top of the waves. it's an incredible sight to see here. this track is good news for the mid-atlantic. it is not good news for the northeast. let's show you what the hurricane center is saying about this, as of this morning. so, we've got a smaller storm. we've got a category 2 storm. 105-mile-per-hour winds right now. as this storm continues to pull away, the big thing overnight was when does it make its turn? east-northeast turn is what we're looking for. we've got that now. it's pulling away from the outer banks. it's parallel to virginia beach right now. directly right off our shore. then we'll watch it pull away from and much better conditions for the jersey shore. looking pretty good. delmarva, as well. the storm is far away from you. eastern long island, a little concern about that. cape cod, t
